Jeffry Chastang - Writers' Group
Jeffry Chastang (pronouns: he, him, his) is a Michigan-based writer working in theatre. Jeff received his MFA in Playwriting from Ohio University. He was commissioned by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to write a play marking the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. The resulting play, BLOOD DIVIDED, received a New Play Award from the Edgerton Foundation. Jeff’s play DAUPHIN ISLAND also received a New Play Award from the Edgerton Foundation and reached semifinalist status with the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. DAUPHIN ISLAND received its world premiere at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and was also produced by the Detroit Repertory Theatre and the Passage Theatre in Trenton, NJ. Jeff’s latest play UNDER CEEGE will receive its world premiere at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, MI in January 2022.

"C" Heaps - Writers' Group
“C” Heaps (pronouns: they/them) is currently teaching English at Battle Creek Central High School. They also currently serve as president of the board for Queer Theatre Kalamazoo. Heaps received a PhD in Theatre History, Theory, and Literature from Indiana University, and is a translator, director, and playwright whose current research involves the application of cognitive linguistics to the theory and practice of translating theatre as well as performing gender in eSports. Their play “On Being a Priest” can be found in Out of the Mount: 19 from New Play Project.

Micealaya "Mickey" Moses (pronouns she/her) is a playwright from Detroit, MI. She got her MFA in playwriting from Western Michigan University and is currently teaching at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has had several staged readings of her plays in Kalamazoo, MI. Her play, "Tailypo," was a regional finalist at The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in 2012 and was performed at the 4th Street Theatre in New York City by The Dirty Blondes Theatre Company in 2014. Her full-length play, Dirty Glass, was chosen to be a part of Theatre NOVA's 2018 Michigan Playwright's Festival. Face Off Theatre Company premiered her children's play Rich Soil during their third season. She is a founding member of Face Off Theatre Company.

Holli C. Sinn - Writers' Group
Holli C. Sinn (she/her) is a playwright and teaching artist from Fort Worth, Texas. Her plays have been produced and developed at her alma mater Cornell College, Iowa City, Chicago, Austin, University of Texas and New Castle, Australia. Her play, PEACH BLOOD was selected for the main stage series at Cornell College. In Austin, her experimental play SCAVENGER HEART was workshopped in the UT’s 2009 Lab Series and THE CHRONICLES OF BAD ASS WOMEN was produced in the Cohen New Works Festival in March 2011. In the summer of 2012, she self-produced a basketball love story between two teammates, THE SIXTH MAN.
Holli holds a B.A. in English and Theater from Cornell College and an M.F.A in Playwriting at the University of Texas at Austin where she also found a passion for teaching yoga. In 2010 she attended the Theater of the Oppressed Conference in Kalkutta where she began to deeply respect political and educational theater. Later, she trained in Drama Based Instruction through the Summer Institute at UT. For the last five years she’s been running a yoga business and training others in the art of storytelling through the body. Now, she’s excited to be the moderator for The Vagrancy’s inaugural Blossoming Writers’ Group in Grand Rapids, MI.
